"...but I will avoid confrontation until the time is right. For now, I journey on."

This artwork has finally been completed!
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that it's been over a year since I began this particular piece... If you don't believe me, check out this preview I uploaded on the day I started the sketch!

A lot of things have happened between the start and completion of this artwork and I won't describe the details as most of you have been aware from mid-2015 onwards why I have taken this long to upload it.
At the time, most of it was fine up until the flat-colour, when the outline became slightly blurred due to the program I was using at the time to draw it since it apparently can't handle flipping layers while the layer still remains clean.
Around late 2015, I had slightly improved my drawing style but decided not to redraw this one since it was halfway completed already.
Earlier this year, I had first started shading and highlighting the background in a soft-shading style but later ditched it and went with cell-shading instead.
Fast forward to August; upon adjusting to this new device, I transferred this artwork along with every other work-in-progress from my Note onto it and things began working a lot more smoothly. Although I now have a new drawing style and a new device, so it felt a bit... well... outdated to have completed this artwork just now...

Now, it is completed and I am extremely relieved that it has been~

It didn't turn out too bad in my opinion. I attempted to save it by adding detailed grass while it was still on my Note, but that really didn't work out too well, so on this new device I created a brush specifically for grass strokes and I think it somewhat saved it.

Anyway, this is a new-ish character of mine named BookBinder. She is a horned and winged marten (a mammal that has a resemblance to ferrets and weasels) and is known by her namesake; she mends damaged books. I will admit that I did get a bit of inspiration by the Inkheart Trilogy by Cornelia Funke in terms of the 'horned marten' and 'book binding' concepts for her design but other than those two concepts, she doesn't have any connection to the series.
In this artwork, she is walking along a partial stone trail that covers hills with thick, untrimmed grass in the moonlight. What she is looking at, we may never know~
I'm getting the feeling that she may have an altered design next time I draw her...

Since this one has been completed, I will write an Update Journal in a few days' time as to what is happening next.

This artwork was drawn by me, GalacticCommanderKat and only I am allowed to use this. No one else is allowed to use this artwork. Anyone who uses this artwork without my permission or knowledge will have the deviation reported. Anything worth reporting is: stealing/re-uploading, copying, claiming as own, tracing, recoloring, altering, roleplay use, commercial use, etc. This artwork also contains my own characters so do not place any of that ‘identify as kin’ bullshit below. If you claim to identify as ‘kin’ to any of my characters, that logically means that by extension, you identify as me and that is considered identity theft.
